First Communion
If your child has been baptised and has started primary school, they may be ready to receive Holy Communion for the first time.
Holy Communion is at the heart of Christian worship. As we receive the consecrated bread and wine, we remember Jesus' sacrifice, give thanks for his love, and are strengthened for the journey of faith. First Communion marks an important step as a child begins to make the faith their own and take a fuller part in the worshipping life of the Church.
We prepare each child carefully through age-appropriate teaching and activities, helping them understand what Communion is and why it matters. First Communion is typically offered to children between the ages of five and ten.

Confirmation
Confirmation is an important milestone in the Christian journey. For many people it is the moment they publicly affirm the promises once made for them at baptism and commit themselves to following Jesus Christ.
During the Confirmation service, the bishop lays hands on each candidate and prays that they may be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit to live as Christ's disciple. It is both a personal affirmation of faith and a public expression of belonging to the Church.
Some people seek Confirmation as young people. Others come to it later in life after exploring faith, returning to church, or rediscovering their relationship with God. There is no upper age limit.
Candidates take part in a period of preparation where we explore the Christian faith together, ask questions, and reflect on what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ today.
