Banns are a public announcement of your intention to marry. They form part of the legal process for many Church of England weddings and give an opportunity for any lawful reason why the marriage should not take place to be raised.
Your banns will normally be read during our 9.30am Sunday service on three consecutive Sundays in the three months before your wedding. We will let you know the dates, and you are very welcome to invite family and friends to hear your banns being read. For many couples, it is a special moment in the lead-up to their wedding day.
