Altar Guild
A volunteer group of the parish whose ministry is to serve at the altar in assistance to the priest. To be part of the altar guild is a ministry - a gift of time and talent to serve God in His house.
The altar guild have a number of roles. They care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. They also participate in processions by carrying the processional cross and candles (acolyte). Some altar guild members are trained to use incense (thurifer).
The altar guild always welcomes new members. Altar Guild members should be congregants who are baptised and ideally confirmed.
